UNESCO’s World Press Freedom Day is held every year on May 3 to keep press freedom at the forefront of the global agenda. This year the day will be commemorated in more than 100 countries, including the global conference in Washington, DC, under the theme 21st Century: New Frontiers, New Barriers. Whether or not you are able to join one of these events, you can join the global conversation and help advance press freedom by showing your support online.

Join in a social media call to action campaign to use your status to call on your leaders and peers to take a stand in the protection of the fundamental right to freedom of expression.
